Welcome to TheWargameLeauge.com.
The purpose of this site is to provide range of practical aids to the tabletop wargamer.
You will not find much in the way of articles or reviews, but hopefully you will find other stuff, some useful and some fun!
The core of the site, as the name suggests, is the league system. This is designed to encourage gamers to play a sequence of battles, encouraging diversity of opponents and circumstances. The idea is very simple, but a little imagination can take it a long way.
Basic league tables are fine, but why not think about how to carryover casualties, reward success, create different scenarios. A little ingenuity can result in a much more enjoyable campaign feel to a set of battles, giving you reason to play in a certain style (for example a draw in this battle might help gain a better victory in the next?).
But most of all it encourages you to PLAY. Get those figures on the table! The whole thing is also documented and recorded for posterity. You can have a permanent reminder of your glorious campaign!

There is quite a bit of other stuff to, for example to DBM weather charts. These consolidate all of the weather rules for a climate and allow you to print it out on an A4 sheet for reference during a battle. Then there are the datasheets for the Scramble and Stringbag rules by A&A Games. Over eight-hundred different datasheets that can be chosen by date, so only the aircraft available on the chosen day of your engagement are listed.
Oh, and of course there is the Warhammer Ancient Battles combat simulator. Just a bit of fun for checking out those first vital rounds of combat!

The site will continue to grow, with new features being added.
Currently the main effort is to bring a Swiss Tournament option to the League system. This will allocate out the first round of games on a random basis, and subsequent rounds according to the results of the first, ensuring of course that there are no repeat matches. This should be available within a few weeks.
As our aim is to provide wargamers with support we would be very interested to hear your views. Any rule sets that you think need support, any gaming aids you would like to access? Let us know and we will see what can be done!

Meanwhile, enjoy the site, and more importantly, enjoy your wargames!
